SEASON 1999/2000

And now the end is near, it's time to face the final table...

31 May 2000

After eight months of sheer excitement, joy and, in some cases disappointment the Dreamteam finally comes to a close. It has been fun. It has been great...and now it's over...

And just when you think everything in the garden is rosy, scandal hits!

As you know, I've been keeping track of everyone's scores throughout the season - there's been the odd oversight but they've all been pretty accurate - you miss the odd booking and sometimes you can double a player's score when calculating individual totals. Nic for example had seven more points than she should have (according to the Sun) while I had 1 less point than I should have.

Anyway, none of these scores differed to much except for Fletch's Golden Shower. He had a points difference of +21. This caused some alarm. Have the Sun been making their points up as they go along, or have they overlooked a player's score? I go for the latter...

Fletch's selection of Tim Flowers caused me a lot of headaches - because he was always being substituted - probably for the Sun too. But that's the only real difference between the results.

So, here, after much sweat and tears is the final table according to the Sun. Callum was the clear winner by over 100 points in the end. Rob beat the AV Dept into second place with a score of 1097 while Ash, who for so long was in the money, misses out in 4th place with 1046. Next came Dave followed by my good self who won the battle of my household by just TWO points!

At the bottom, Nity proved just as crap as the Tottenham midfield. In the end he was comfortable at the bottom, beating Gaz who finished second last. Freakin Last may have been relegated by Fletch's gamble failed to pay.

Hope you've had fun and I'll see you all in August for Pre-Season Training.

Callum wins £80 (See Gary)

Rob wins £30 (-£10 for his entrance fee - see Neil)

AV Dept wins £10 (See Gary)

Nity wins £10 (-£10 for his entrance fee!)

Traa....

Oh, by the way, the Dreamteam's leading player was (drum roll) KEVIN PHILIPS. So, everyone who had Phillips in their Dreamteam received a bonus 20 points from the Sun, which allowed me to break the 1000 point barrier.
