IS THIS ME OR IS THIS DEAD-SHOT KEEN?

With so many players moving about and in some cases departing the dreamteam, many managers are already seeing the hopes and dreams they had at the start of the season turning to dust.

None more so than the aptly named Birmingham Shitty, who are firmly rooted at the bottom of the table and already look out of it. With Sander Westerveld frozen out at Anfield and Silvinho off-loaded to Celta Vigo, manager Dave Nicholson knows he has flushed £8 million of his £40 million budget down the lavatory and he can only hope he can keep in touch with those above him until the transfer window opens in January otherwise its gonna be a very cold winter for Birmingham Shitty.

Tripping the light fantastic
Still, he shouldn't give up hope altogether. He's not the only one that has lost a player and he can take heart from this week's top performers, Billy's Boots. The Boots rose 18 places, from 23rd to 5th, after scoring a whopping 76 points - thanks largely to Craig Bellamy's performance in the Worthington Cup. Such a display merely proves that its early doors so those at the top need not start spending their prize money yet…except that last week's leaders, Salford Strokers, scored 65 points to extend their lead. Ahem…

It was good week for Spakatak Toxteth too with Claire Devaney (no relation) moving up 10 places to 12th while 1 FC Laundromat moved into 3rd with a score of 54.

At the other end of the scale, Torpedo Bermondsey had a week they'd rather forget, scoring a paltry nine points and dropped out of the Top Ten. Supersonic FC also fell fast but things are so tight in the middle that such leaps and falls we become common over the coming weeks.

Of course, you shouldn't really read too much into these scores. With so many games postponed this week, the points total should level out by Christmas. Unless of course you're Dave - who is now lying under a spirit level with a perfect bubble.

More fun and games next week, but for now, enjoy the fruits of my html table tags…
